Guidance with Compassion — One Step at a Time

Arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming, especially when emotions are high. At Arlington Funeral Services, we are here to guide you with clarity, compassion and dignity — helping you make decisions at a pace that feels right for you and your family.

Whether you are planning ahead or arranging a funeral following a recent loss, our role is to support you and create a meaningful farewell that truly reflects your loved one’s life, wishes and personality.

Step 1 — Choosing the Type of Funeral

The first decision is how you would like to say goodbye. We offer several carefully considered options, including:

  • Traditional funerals
  • Cremation services
  • Direct cremations (a separate page will explain this in full)
  • Natural and eco-friendly burials
  • Religious and non-religious services
  • Personalised celebrations of life

Your funeral arranger will gently explain each option and help you explore what feels appropriate. We take time to listen — so the service truly reflects the person you love.

Step 2 — Planning the Service

Once the type of funeral has been chosen, we will help shape the day with care and attention to detail.

We can assist with:

  • Selection of music and readings
  • Choosing a celebrant or officiant
  • Visual tributes and personal touches
  • Service location — church, chapel, graveside or alternative venue
  • Floral tributes and order of service stationery
  • Care arrangements within our Chapel of Rest

We also manage the practical steps, including:

  • Transport — Mercedes hearse and limousines
  • Coffin choices
  • Date and timing of the funeral
  • Liaison with crematoria and cemeteries
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork and legal documents

You will never be rushed. We provide guidance and reassurance throughout.

Step 3 — Informing Family and Friends

We can help you share service details clearly and respectfully, including:

  • Printed or online notices
  • Obituary pages and condolences
  • Service sheets and stationery
  • Spaces for messages and memories

These details help family and friends come together — to support one another and to honour a life well lived.

Step 4 — Looking After Yourself

Grief affects everyone differently. During this time, it is important to care for your emotional wellbeing.

You may find comfort in:

  • Talking with close family and friends
  • Sharing decisions rather than carrying them alone
  • Seeking support from a counsellor or bereavement specialist
  • Visiting our Guidance pages — designed to offer gentle support

Our care does not end on the day of the funeral. We are here to assist and guide whenever needed.

Clear Guidance on Costs

We believe every family deserves clarity and choice. Your arranger will explain all costs clearly, including:

  • Venue fees
  • Officiant or celebrant fees
  • Floral arrangements
  • Transport and fleet options
  • Optional extras and personal touches

We offer different funeral packages, including direct cremations and simple services, and we can advise on financial support if required.

You Are Never Alone

During times of loss, many decisions may need to be made — but you do not have to make them alone.

At Arlington Funeral Services:

  • If you are ready to talk — we will listen.
  • If you are unsure — we will guide you.
  • If you need support — we will take care.

We are here — one step at a time.
