About Arlington Funeral Services
Guidance, Support & Compassion — Every Step of the Way
For over 20 years, Arlington Funeral Services has supported families across Stoke-on-Trent with dignity, warmth and professional care. Our funeral home was created to provide a trusted local space where families feel safe, informed and gently guided during some of life's most difficult moments.
Our Story – A Legacy of Care
Arlington Funeral Services is based in a former library on Ford Green Road, Stoke-on-Trent. The building was lovingly renovated in 2001 by our founder, Steve Boulton, who restored it to its former character and created a welcoming space for families to gather and reflect.
Steve sadly passed away in 2019. His legacy continues today through his wife Tracey, their family, and the trusted team Steve built. Together, we carry forward his values — care, dignity and genuine support for every family we serve.
Our funeral home remains a place of kindness and understanding — founded on real people, real care, and real community.
Our Pledge to You
When you place your loved one in our care, we make you this promise:
Your loved one will always be treated with dignity and respect
We will support you — before, during and after the funeral
We will listen to your wishes and guide you clearly
You will always know who is caring for your loved one
Every decision will be explained gently and professionally
Why Families Choose Arlington
Our team has experience working across both independent funeral homes and within the Coroner’s Office, which has given us a rare depth of understanding when it comes to funeral care and the processes families may face.
As an independent funeral director, we:
- Offer personal, individual care
- Treat your loved one as one of our own
- Provide clear explanations at every step
- Welcome families into our funeral home whenever needed
- Ensure your loved one remains in our care at all times
Every funeral is bespoke — shaped around your wishes and your loved one’s life.
Proud Members of NAFD & SAIF
Reassurance, Regulation and High Standards of Care
At Arlington Funeral Services, we believe that families deserve complete confidence in the quality of care their loved one will receive. That is why we are proud members of both the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and SAIF – the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors.
These memberships are not automatic — they must be earned and maintained through regular inspections, adherence to strict codes of practice and a proven commitment to professional standards.
What This Means for Your Family
By choosing an NAFD and SAIF member, you can be assured of:
- High professional standards – Our work is regularly assessed to ensure services meet strict national guidelines.
- Transparent pricing – All costs must be clear and fully explained.
- Proper training and qualifications – Our team must meet ongoing professional development requirements.
- Code of conduct – We follow ethical guidelines in every aspect of funeral care.
- Complaints and mediation support – If needed, both NAFD and SAIF offer independent support for families.
Membership means we are accountable not only to our community — but also to national bodies that exist to protect families and uphold dignity in funeral care.
In simple terms, it means your loved one is in safe hands — and your wishes will always be respected.
For more information about NAFD and SAIF, we are happy to explain in person or provide written guidance at any time.

Leaving the Light On
Saying goodbye isn’t just one moment.
At Arlington, we also provide ways to reflect, remember and honour your loved one — gently and in your own time.
Our Chapel of Rest offers a quiet space for families to visit privately. It is calm, safe and personal — a setting where final goodbyes can be made with peace and dignity.
We welcome you to spend time, share memories and reflect — supported by our team if you wish, or in private if you prefer.
Guidance – For when you need it the most, step-by-step.
We understand that questions may arise at any time — often when emotions are strongest.
That is why we provide step-by-step guidance on key topics, including what to do when someone dies, arranging a funeral and understanding your choices.
